Eeeekkkk.... A Bear Sighting in East Texas

E is for Eeeeeeeeek!!
collage 3
Okay, so it wasn't a REAL bear,
but it sure was a cute one!
And look at that face covered with Cheetos and DIRT!
YUM!!!
Even the bear towel hasn't been safe from our new pup....
Notice that sad looking, chewed up left ear?!
Yep, courtesy of Hot Rod.

We went back to Camp Tonkawa this Wednesday.
This time, my niece and nephew got to go.
The boys tried building a "beaver damn" to stop the creek up.
But it seemed pretty dangerous to me.
If they were even somewhat successful,
I think once all the water built up behind it...
It could've come rolling down on them!!

I made them tear it apart.

collage 1 Again, another boy with NO FEAR!

Little Lou Lou loves to just do her own thing most of the time.
I snuck around behind and sat down behind a big tree just to watch her.
And of course take pics.
She's so serious... playing, yet watching other people as well.

I'll leave you with the above picture of the peacock.
Okay, I know it's a wild turkey.
But it's an inside joke...
Obviously SOMEONE that was with us thought it was a peacock.
I won't name names... CHERYL :-)
I marked the name out, so I know you can't see it now. hehe

As with our all our outings,
I took WAY too many pictures.
I'll have more to share later!!!

  3. It looks like you had a real fun time with the kids at the park. Great picture taking. I have a Nikon too. I kept it on 'auto' for the first two years. Now I'm learning to use 'A' for aperture. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  21. OK I want a park like that near me that water looks heavenly. The bear is adorable. Ahh boys I totally understand as a mom of 3 the youngest being the fearless one of them all, bent and determined to give me heart failure long before my time.

  23. We have only one animal hooded towel and it is the same one as yours, lol! Luckily our border collie has not developed a taste for towels so it is still okay. Wow, East Texas looks exactly like where I wished we lived...we are in the Houston area and I cannot say it is pretty at all! It's amazing how different areas of TX can look so drastically different. I may be as photo obsessed as you but have not had the courage to get off of autofocus myself...and I really should since my autofocus hasn't functioned consistently since one of my kids is suspected of dropping the Nikon at some point! I look forward to seeing more of your blog...feel free to drop by Momof3withaPhD sometime...on fb with spaces between the words or as a dot com for the website;)...I promise you'll find gratuitous child & puppy photos!

  28. These pictures were wonderful. Isn't it cool how kids are kids no matter what decade?

Those pictures of the little boys in the creek were timeless.

    And that bear.

    Oh my.

    Excellently frightening.

Thanks for a cute link for the letter "E".
