Salt, Chalk & Popsicles

Every Wednesday, our local library will be doing activities for the kiddos as part of their Summer Reading Program. This past week they did sand art. I guess it's technically salt art?

We took salt and poured it on a paper plate.
Then took the big chunky sidewalk chalk and rubbed it on
the salt until it mixed with it and colored it.
Pretty technical stuff, I know.

Just like the colored sand, they layered their colored salt into plastic bottles.
The little girl missed out on this activity because she was at her aunt's.
I think we may buy the stuff and do this at home as well.
Just soooooo messy!

I love those little chubby fingers. He wants to do EVERYTHING himself.
And in the top right photo... just below this, look at the tongue.
He's concentrating.

And then there were popsicles....
